July Newsletter 2025

Welcome to the July edition of our newsletter.

We know you understand the challenges of being a marketing leader in 2025! This month we delve further into why it’s perhaps more difficult than ever before. We also have all the details of the Sarcoma Awareness Month campaign we launched last week for Sarcoma UK, and what we’ve got coming up with some of our other clients.

Being a Marketing Leader in 2025

There was a time when marketing leadership meant exactly that – leading. Back in the 1990s, the Head of Marketing or CMO was the brand guardian. They had the space to think strategically, tell powerful stories, and shape how a business showed up in the world.

Fast forward to 2025, and the role has changed dramatically.

Today’s senior marketers are still expected to be visionaries, but now that vision has to come alongside faster delivery, tighter budgets and constant internal demand. There’s less resource, more responsibility, and little room to slow down.

It’s no longer just about brand building. It’s about leading cross-functional teams, responding to every urgent ask and justifying every decision.

The role has grown, the resources haven’t…

According to MarketingProfs, 67% of marketing leaders say their role has expanded without any additional support. That shows up in different ways – broader remits, blurred job descriptions, and mounting pressure to hit goals that keep shifting.

What was once a focused leadership role has become a blend of strategist, analyst, project manager and internal communications lead.

What marketing leaders really need…

Most marketing leaders don’t need more dashboards or another pitch deck. They need headspace. They need clarity and they need support that actually moves things forward.

MARKETING LEADERSHIP IN 2025

Sarcoma Awareness Month 2025

We were honoured to be asked by Sarcoma UK to work with them on their Sarcoma Awareness Month campaign for the third consecutive year. Sarcoma UK is the only cancer charity in the UK focusing on all types of sarcoma.

This July, Sarcoma Awareness Month focuses on reaching healthcare professionals – to raise awareness, educate, and provide key resources to GPs, physiotherapists, radiologists and other healthcare professionals.

Following successful out-of-home, PR and social campaigns over the last two years, for this year’s campaign we took a more targeted approach, working strategically to reach the healthcare professionals who can make a difference.

We worked with the Sarcoma UK team on the campaign from start to finish, beginning with creative concepts to present to the client, taking ownership of the campaign from a strategic perspective and art-directing the campaign shoot in London.

The targeted campaign was designed to reach key healthcare professionals, and supported by digital banners on external sites and landing pages on the Sarcoma UK website, which we designed and built a few years ago.

With our paid social and digital expertise, we planned out the customer journey and the paid LinkedIn campaign, and provided copy for the LinkedIn ads, digital banners and digital landing pages.

Featuring real stories from GP, physiotherapist and radiologist peers, the campaign aims to reduce the time patients wait for a diagnosis by raising awareness among relevant healthcare professionals.

The campaign is supported by hard-hitting facts, highlighting how rare sarcoma is, with GPs likely to see fewer than five sarcoma cases throughout their career, and reinforcing the importance of early diagnosis.

Agency News

The first half of 2025 has been crazy busy – but we wouldn’t have it any other way! And the rest of the year looks set to be just as exciting…

Next week James and Mark jet off to France for the final part of our shoot with our client Permobil, for a new campaign that launches later this year. Usually I’m jealous of their jet-setting, but with temperatures set to hit 37 degrees Celsius next week, the rest of us are happy to hold the fort here in the UK.

We’re excited that one of our clients has a new website launching later this week! We’ve been involved in every aspect of the new site – creating and designing a responsive, SEO-optimised site, planning the content and writing the copy. Watch this space for more details in next month’s newsletter.

We’re also kicking off a new project with an existing client very soon, and visiting another client at a show. Keep up to date with our latest news by following us on LinkedIn.
